WHAT WE DO
CLASSES & ENSEMBLES
Our group classes and ensembles are a great addition to private lessons. They can help students focus on specific skills and reach their personal musical goals. The classes evolve depending on our students' needs. Please check back here for our class offerings at the beginning of each trimester (spring-January, summer-June, fall-August). Get on our email list so you don't miss the start of classes!

CREATIVE STRINGS WORKSHOP
String players of all ages are welcome. Students should have 6 months of experience or have completed all Suzuki Twinkle variations and Theme.
This workshop offers an engaging summer experience for string students to expand their expressive and creative skills. Through guided improvisation games and collaborative activities, students will explore new ways of making music beyond the written page.
Over the course of the workshop, they’ll develop confidence in musical decision-making and creative risk-taking. The week will culminate in a unique performance of student-led chamber music improvisations.
Instructor: Rachael Keplin
Schedule: June 24-June 27, 11:00a-12:00p
Fee: $69 (15% OFF for any students currently enrolled in private lessons)

KEYBOARD SKILLS OLYMPIAD
The Keyboard Skills Olympiad encourages students to master fundamental keyboard skills. Students enrolled in piano lessons, from the earliest beginner through advanced levels, can collect Gold, Silver, and Bronze seals in this event. The students will prepare from one to eight items with their teachers, and be evaluated by one of the MANC piano faculty. As students earn more Gold seals, from one Olympiad event to the next, they become eligible for additional awards.
An extensive list of these skills includes items such as identifying notes and key signatures and playing scales, arpeggios, triads, and chord progressions. This event will be offered several times each year.
Instructor: Piano Faculty
Schedule: TBA
Fee: $20 for 1-8 skills
The Music Academy is proud to partner with Gate City Musikgarten who offers a sequential music education program for children birth through age 11.
