WHAT WE DO

SPECIAL EVENTS

Throughout the academic year, we hold special events that provide additional opportunities for our students and our community to engage with our faculty and visit our school. These include guest speakers/performers, department or academy-wide performances, children's concerts, workshops, and more! Get on our email list so you don't miss our special events.

JAZZ WORKSHOP

Sunday, November 9
2:00p-3:30p
MANC Performance Hall
Free to the public

Our talented and passionate faculty will guide you on a jazz journey. There's no better way to learn technique and improv than jumping right in, so bring your instrument and come on!

We'll be focusing on Insta-bop, a method for playing bebop solos and melodies instantly, featuring the music of Charlie Parker. It's a relaxed, fun environment to experiment and collaborate.

JAZZ STUDIES

UNCG KEYBOARD RECITAL

Saturday, November 15
1:00p
MANC Performance Hall
Open to all MANC students and families

The UNCG Keyboard Studies program is giving a short piano recital for the students at MANC. The performers will share piano stories and have a casual Q&A panel. They'll discuss college pianist life, how to stay involved with music after high school, practice strategies, and anything music-related.

Anyone interested in learning more about studying music in college is encouraged to attend and bring their questions!

GUITAR CONCERT

Saturday, November 15
4:00p
MANC Performance Hall
Free to the public

Come out and hear original compositions for classical and electric guitar by our Guitar Department Chair, Ken Brown, with special guests, Kami Rowan, Tucker Gamble, and Steve Landis.

Insights into the inspiration and process behind each composition will accompany the fantastic music!
