GIVE TO TODAY

Did you know every lesson taught at the Music Academy is subsidized? That's right!  Tuition does not cover the true cost of what it takes for MANC to operate on a daily basis.

We have a professional, experienced team of artist faculty who value a well-rounded music education, and we strive to make all we offer accessible to the members of our community. The Music Academy also has eleven community partners where faculty perform, teach, and inspire.

Your gift enables us to offer an exceptional experience to a private lessons student, community partner, and the many participants we inspire throughout our community each year.

MAKE AN IMPACT

LESSONS FOR LIFE SOCIETY

Members of the Lessons for Life Society make a positive impact with gifts and pledges of at least $6,000 over a 5 year period, which support and sustain the mission of the Music Academy.

As the philanthropic backbone of the organization, these individuals are committed to continuing our excellent programs and the work we do in the community to ensure music education and performance remain alive and well in Greensboro.

Multi-year pledges provide a predictable revenue stream which allows the Music Academy to focus on long-term planning, budget more effectively, and weather unforeseen challenges.

GIVE TO OUR FUTURE

BRICK BY BRICK

With our permanent home secured, capital campaign gifts go directly to our facilities reserve. Music certainly lives here, and we need your support to ensure it lives here well into the future!

MEMORIAL ENDOWMENTS

IVAN BATTLE ENDOWMENT

The Music Academy was founded in 1982 by Dr. Ivan Battle in response to the need for a community music school that offered exceptional music education in a structured, well-paced course of study.

In 1994, the Music Academy administration and board of directors decided to establish an endowment in Dr. Battle’s name after his death to honor his strong passion for the mission of the school that serves the exceptionally talented as well as students who experience socioeconomic barriers.  The funds are housed at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, and approximately 5% of the investment yields are awarded each year as scholarships.

LAURA KATHRYN HOLLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Restricted to The Music Academy’s Lessons for Life Outreach Program, the Laura Kathryn Holley fund was established to support one of The Music Academy’s core values of making our lessons and programs available to all.

The Lessons for Life Outreach Program provides financial assistance for private music lessons and fully subsidizes high-quality performances, instrument demonstrations, and music programs to those with demonstrated financial need, learning differences, or physical limitations. The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro will administer the scholarship fund.
