Faculty Showcase Series:
Faculty members of the Academy perform at selected sites throughout the year, in an outreach effort to bring music to different populations of the community. Locations include surrounding churches, synagogues, and retirement communities.

Fall Festival:
This annual event is held in the fall and is available free of charge to all Academy students. Students perform before judges for constructive comments and competition experience. Certificates are awarded for participation.

Ice Cream and Music Festival:
The Academy holds an annual Ice Cream and Music Festival in September as a fund-raiser. The general public is encouraged to attend this fun event with games, entertainment, and refreshments (including all the ice cream you can eat!).

MANC Cello Competition (Honoring Elizabeth Hoffman Ragan):
This annual competition is held in February and features cello students of all ages and levels nationwide. Students are selected by a panel of judges for cash awards. The competition honors the late Elizabeth Hoffman Ragan, who was a local cellist and the youngest charter member of the NC Symphony.

NC Teaching Certification Renewal Credit:
Continuing educational renewal credit toward the NC Teaching Certificate may be received for lessons at MANC, through the Guilford County Public School System, with prior approval by the Guilford County Office of Staff Services.

Placement Assessment:
All prospective new students to the Academy have the option of an individual meeting with an instructor in the department in which he/she seeks lessons, for placement assessment. The interview is an opportunity for the student/parent to visit the Academy and ask specific questions, and for the teacher to assess the student's developmental growth, level of proficiency, and musical aptitude.

Performance reviews:
The professional performance of all employees of the Academy is reviewed on a regular basis. Faculty members are reviewed at the conclusion of each academic year. Situations and concerns which need to be addressed prior to reviews are dealt with as needs arise.

Progress reports:
Students/parents receive written progress reports at the conclusion of each trimester. Copies of each report are kept in the student files in the office. Teachers are encouraged and expected to verbally communicate with the students/parents on a continuous basis, so that comments on the progress reports support or reflect conversations which have already taken place.

Scholarship Program:
Merit Scholarships: Auditions for merit scholarships are held annually in May. Financial Aid: Funds are available to students who have demonstrated need and musical potential. Work-study: Opportunities are periodically available for students to earn tuition credit, by performing specific needed duties at The Music Academy.

Student Recitals:
Student Recitals are held quarterly in The Music Academy's Allen Recital Hall. The programs are completely optional, but allow students who wish to experience the joy of musical performance the opportunity to do so on a regular basis. Additional Academy recitals are held at various times throughout the year.

Student Showcase Series:
Students perform throughout the year for numerous churches, community service clubs, organizations, businesses, foundations and individuals.
