| MANC Cello, Violin and Viola Competition (Honoring Elizabeth Hoffman Ragan): This annual competition is held in March and features cello, violin and viola students of all ages and levels nationwide. Students are selected by a panel of judges for cash awards. The competition honors the late Elizabeth Hoffman Ragan, who was a local cellist and the youngest charter member of the North Carolina Symphony. MANC Guitar Festival: This annual festival is held in the Fall and attracts the best and most talented guitarists of all ages nationwide. Winners are selected by a panel of judges for cash awards.
