MANC Cello, Violin and Viola Competition (Honoring Elizabeth Hoffman Ragan):  This annual competition is held in March and features cello, violin and viola students of all ages and levels nationwide.  Students are selected by a panel of judges for cash awards.  The competition honors the late Elizabeth Hoffman Ragan, who was a local cellist and the youngest charter member of the North Carolina Symphony.  Click here to learn more about the 11th Annual Cello, Violin and Viola Competition, which was held on March 5-6, 2010.

MANC Guitar Festival:  This annual festival is held in the Fall and attracts the best and most talented guitarists of all ages nationwide.  Winners are selected by a panel of judges for cash awards.  There is an Awards Presentation and Winners’ Recital after a day of auditions and master classes.  Click here to find out more about the most recent Guitar Festival, which was held on November 13-15, 2009.
